Journal 1 How can I inspire a student, high school or elementary, to write? How will my Writer’s Guild benefit others? There are two primary goals for this project: 1. Start up a Writer's Guild and teach some students tips and tricks for creative writing. 2. Compile and properly write out my short stories into a book and print and maybe publish it. Major Products - Website for writers guild - Printed (Possibly published) book of short stories Goals for Break 1. Organize plans for guild (Dates, times, activities for students, etc) 2. Create website 3. Compile what short stories I want to write Journal 2 October 27 2016 Whats a good way to motivate students to get involved? My Weekly Goal is to get to work on improving my project based on Ms Alexander’s Email. The next step in my project is to create a poster that I can paste up around school. My other objectives involve improving what I have to do based on Ms Alexander’s feedback. I have found an article on a website with a few steps on how to get students interested in joining a club. It is barebones at best, but it is also a good starting point. My next goal is to seek assistance with creating a functioning weebly page for fit for the club. Mrs Alexander is someone I can count on to assist me. Same can be said about most KCS teachers since they all use Weebly. Journal 4
November 9 2016 How many stories do I want to improve? Since my last class with Mrs Alexander I have drafted an email, consulted with Spencer about being my illustrator, and compiled two full short stories and one script for my book Since this Friday is a holiday I decided that my three main objectives this weekend is to: 1 Update website after I get input back about website ideas 2 Create flyer 3 Research fanfic websites Megan Baker (my mom) will provide me with her Photoshop so I could create the flyer. Draft Email: Do you like to write stories, but have nowhere to share them for people to read? Are you insecure about your writing skills and want to improve? Do you want to share your work and better yourself through constructive criticism? Does this email appeal to you like that of an infomercial? Hi, I am Simon Baker-Mongelli, and I like to write. Perhaps you have some creative ideas you would like to get down onto paper. I would be honored to have you within the ranks of KCS’ first Writer’s Guild!
